Big in Japan (part Deux)

Here I am...sitting in my grandma's house in Japan.

We got here last night after a day full of flying (on my birthday).

I am going to take tons of pictures and post as often as possible. But until then, I will direct you to read one of my old posts about how "BIG" I am in Japan

In the (less than 24) hours that I have been here, I have already been lectured about how I should lose weight "for my health". Though I know the message is given to me in kindness, it bugs me because I know that there is a lot more to it than worry about my "health".

I would like to lose a few pounds, but overall, I am so okay with who I am... I inherited the Irish genes passed down from generations of "thick, sturdy women" on my biological-fathers side, I have a big butt (which my husband loves), I love hearty Persian food (thanks to being raised by my Persian dad) and as Popeye would say

"I am, who I am"

That's all that matters, and I need to remember that.

  1. Oh, Happy Birthday!!

My paternal grandmother was Irish, also. I'll blame it on that, too. Seriously, I inherited more of those genes than did my siblings, and while I got the height from all 3 other grandparents, I also got the hippiness.

and BTW .... Popeye said "I YAM what I YAM"!! Get it straight, girl! LOL! And yes, be aware of that and be happy!

  3. Yes, Irish women are "thick, sturdy" broads...coming from a non-petite Irish girl herself. And the offer to create a workout regime is still open! Just email me and let me know exactly what you're looking for. But have fun on vacation first...
